Welcome to this blog exploring sustainable rural development!

What's this blog about?

Hi, my name is Maggie, and in this blog I'm exploring initiatives for agroecology and sustainable rural development in Central America and southern Mexico. After living in Nicaragua for most of my 20s, I've cultivated a deep love for Central America and now Chiapas, Mexico. â€‹

Throughout my years living in Latin America I've developed friendships with inspiring people who are promoting agroecological practices, protecting native seeds and land rights, engaging in solidarity, and defending local cultures and livelihoods. They are carrying out important work to promote sustainable practices that bring people and communities together ðŸŒ±  On this blog I share some of what we learn and do.

My writing represents my own opinion, not those of the organizations I am visiting, unless explicitly mentioned. This blog is a mixture of research, reflections, and personal anecdotes. Photos or writing posted on this blog should not be reproduced in any way without permission.
