Preparing a New Garden Bed at Rancho Lum Ha'

There are many ways to prepare a garden bed, but this is the way they do it at Rancho Lum Ha'!

1. We dig out the bed and add organic materials like leaves, yard clippings, decomposing tree trunks, biochar, etc (a mix of both green and brown materials). This organic matter helps to improve soil structure and fertility over time as it decomposes.

2. Then we topped the bed off with a mixture of dry manure, Bokashi (organic fertilizer), soil, and ashes.

3. Finally, we plant the seeds and watch them grow 😊 🌱 You can see the whole process below.
